Step out of the city life by going to El Pueblo de Los Angeles and Zuma Beach. Santa Monica Pier and Venice Canals Walkway will appeal to history buffs. Step out of Los Angeles to go to Malibu and see El Matador State Beach, which is approximately 1h 05 min away. And it doesn't end there: examine the collection at The Getty Center, explore the different monuments and memorials at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, wander the streets of Angelino Heights Historic Area, and see the sky in a new way at Griffith Observatory.

New York City to Los Angeles is an approximately 9-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or drive. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Pacific Standard Time (PST), which is usually a -3 hour difference.
