First Eastern National Park

The first national park east of the Mississippi River, Acadia National Park draws visitors with its rugged landscape of ocean shoreline, low-slung granite mountains, dense woodlands, and pristine lakes.

Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.
Take a break from the city and head to Back Cove Trail and Merriland Farms Golf Course. Step off the beaten path and head to Wells Reserve at Laudholm and Maine Jewish Museum. Go for a jaunt from Portland to Portsmouth to see Point of Graves about 1 hour away.
