Marfa is a city in the high desert of the Trans-Pecos in far West Texas, located between the Davis Mountains and Big Bend National Park. Fort Davis National Historic Site and Museum of the Big Bend are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Take a break from the city and head to Balmorhea State Park and Davis Mountains State Park. When in Marfa, make a side trip to see McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis, approximately Fort Davis away.
