Hana — 4 nights

Hana is one of the most isolated communities in Hawaii, with a permanent population of just over 1,000 people.
Get some historical perspective at Kahanu Garden and Huialoha Church. Get in touch with nature at Haleakala Crater and Epic Experience Maui. Go for a jaunt from Hana to Kipahulu to see Charles Lindbergh's Grave about 34 minutes away. Spend the 22nd (Sat) exploring the striking scenery along Hana Highway - Road to Hana. There's much more to do: shop like a local with Hana Coast Gallery, explore the different monuments and memorials at Wananalua Congregational Church, pause for some photo ops at Fagan's Cross, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Wai'anapanapa State Park.

Detroit to Hana is an approximately 12.5-hour flight. The time zone difference when traveling from Detroit to Hana is minus 5 hours. Plan for much warmer temperatures traveling from Detroit in April, with highs in Hana at 85°F and lows at 68°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Tue) to allow enough time to fly to Lahaina.

Once the booming capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the tropical paradise of Lahaina still remains one of Maui's top vacation attractions, providing both culture and recreation.
Relax by the water at Ka'anapali Beach and Wailea Beach. Maria Lanakila Catholic Church and Sacred Hearts Mission Church will appeal to history buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lahaina: Keawala'i Congregational Church (in Wailea), Makawao (Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center & Haliimaile Distilling Company) and Kihei (Saint Theresa Roman Catholic Church & Kamaole Beach Park III). Next up on the itinerary: take a stroll through Lahaina Front Street, see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, admire nature's wide array of creatures at Maui Ocean Center, and stroll around Lahaina Banyan Court.

Fly from Hana to Lahaina in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of taxi and bus. When traveling from Hana in April, plan for a bit cooler days in Lahaina, with highs around 80°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 69°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 3rd (Wed) early enough to catch the flight back home.
