The City of Lakes

Located on both banks of the Mississippi River, Minneapolis salutes the state's love of the outdoors with numerous lakes, wetlands, creeks, and waterfalls--many connected to one another by a national scenic byway great for sightseeing.
Visiting Stone Arch Bridge and Mill Ruins Park will get you outdoors. Do some cultural sightseeing at American Swedish Institute and LARK Toys. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Minneapolis: National Eagle Center (in Wabasha) and Hastings Dairy Store (in Hastings). There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Summit Avenue, look for gifts at Candyland, get engrossed in the history at Mill City Museum, and contemplate the long history of James J. Hill House.

Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.
Start off your visit on the 23rd (Wed): Head underground at Inner Space Cavern, take in nature's colorful creations at Zilker Metropolitan Park, and then get a sense of history and politics at Texas State Capitol. The Oleander City

An old colonial city and a busy cruise ship port less than an hour's drive from Houston, Galveston sits on Galveston Island and serves as a popular vacation destination for both domestic and international travelers.
Start off your visit on the 28th (Mon): see the interesting displays at Galveston Railroad Museum, then engage your brain at Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum, then make a trip to Galveston Historic Seaport - Home of the 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA, and finally don't miss a visit to Tree Sculptures.
