A busy city on the Gulf Coast, Biloxi is one of the nation's oldest communities, first settled by Europeans in 1699.
Step out of the city life by going to Biloxi Beach and Gulf Islands National Seashore. Head to Shearwater Pottery and The Waveland Ground Zero Hurricane Museumfor some retail therapy. Step out of Biloxi to go to Picayune and see Crosby Arboretum, which is approximately 1h 05 min away. There's much more to do: try to win big at Beau Rivage Casino, identify plant and animal life at Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Michael's Catholic Church, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Natchez is the county seat and only city of Adams County, Mississippi, United States. Start off your visit on the 12th (Sat): look for gifts at Darby's Famous Fudge, don't miss a visit to Longwood, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Clark Creek Natural Area. Here are some ideas for day two: steep yourself in history at Stanton Hall, then stroll the grounds of Natchez City Cemetery, then steep yourself in history at Rosalie Mansion, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Mary Basilica.

Jackson, officially the City of Jackson, is the capital city and largest urban center of the U.S. U.S.S. Cairo Museum and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Attic Gallery and Outlets of Mississippi. Step out of Jackson with an excursion to Vicksburg National Military Park in Vicksburg--about 56 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: buy something for everyone on your list at Renaissance at Colony Park, grab your bike and head to Flowood Nature Park, explore the engaging exhibits at Mississippi Children's Museum, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Ridgeland Bike Trail.
