Alamogordo is the seat of Otero County, New Mexico, United States. Kick off your visit on the 30th (Sun): take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Joseph Apache Mission Church, then relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, and then learn about all things military at White Sands Missle Range Museum. On the 1st (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: see the interesting displays at New Mexico Museum of Space History, then do a tasting at Tularosa Vineyards, then delve into the distant past at Three Rivers Petroglyph Site, and finally do a tasting at Heart of the Desert.

Sacramento to Alamogordo is an approximately 8.5-hour combination of flight and car. You can also do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. The time zone changes from Pacific Standard Time to Mountain Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference. Expect a bit warmer evenings in Alamogordo when traveling from Sacramento in June, with lows around 65°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Albuquerque.

Plan for slightly colder temperatures traveling from Albuquerque in July, with highs in Taos at 83°F and lows at 52°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Santa Fe.
