On the 19th (Mon), glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 20th (Tue): enjoy the sand and surf at Carova Beach, enjoy the sea views from Currituck Beach Lighthouse and Museum, then contemplate the long history of Wright Brothers National Memorial, and finally get your game on at Outer Banks Old Time Photos.

Boston to Nags Head is an approximately 5.5-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and car. Plan for a bit warmer nights when traveling from Boston in August since evenings lows in Nags Head dip to 72°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Wed) so you can drive to Ocracoke.

Start off your visit on the 22nd (Thu): kick back and relax at Ocracoke Beach Fires, contemplate the long history of British Cemetery, then steep yourself in history at Fort Ocracoke Monument, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Ocracoke Lifeguarded Beach. On the 23rd (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: identify plant and animal life at Springers Point and then enjoy the sand and surf at Ocracoke Beach.
