Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge and Hands On Children's Museum. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Chihuly Garden and Glass and Museum of Glass. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Seattle: Tacoma (LeMay - America's Car Museum & Chihuly Bridge of Glass) and Snoqualmie Falls (in Snoqualmie). There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Pike Place Market and stroll around Kerry Park.

Charlotte to Seattle is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. The time zone difference when traveling from Charlotte to Seattle is minus 3 hours. While traveling from Charlotte, expect slightly colder days and about the same nights in Seattle, ranging from highs of 47°F to lows of 37°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Astoria.

Astoria, named for famed fur trader John Jacob Astor, resides near the mouth of the Columbia River.
Kick off your visit on the 21st (Sat): look for all kinds of wild species at Astoria Column, hike along Astoria Oregon Riverwalk, then examine the collection at Seaside Inverted Experience, then get engrossed in the history at Cannon Beach History Center and Museum, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Manzanita Beach. On your second day here, kick back and relax at Del Rey Beach State Recreation Site and then tour the pleasant surroundings at The Lewis And Clark National And State Historical Parks.

Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Mon): take in the dramatic natural features at Cape Foulweather, enjoy the sand and surf at Fogarty Creek State Recreation Area, then kick back and relax at Gleneden Beach State Park, and finally get engrossed in the history at Prehistoric.
