The heart of Pennsylvania's famous "Dutch Country," Lancaster is one of the nation's oldest inland cities, founded in 1730.
On the 22nd (Mon), get in on the family fun at Hersheypark. On the 23rd (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take an in-depth tour of Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, contemplate the long history of The Amish Farm and House, then see the interesting displays at Landis Valley Museum, then contemplate the long history of Ephrata Cloister, and finally take in the views from Erbs Covered Bridge.

You can take a train from Philadelphia to Lancaster in 1.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Philadelphia in July, Lancaster is slightly colder at night with lows of 66°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Tue) early enough to go by car to Gettysburg.
