Popular historic sites such as Old San Juan and San Juan National Historic Site are in your itinerary. Appreciate the collections at Museo de Arte de Ponce and Museo de Las Americas. Venture out of the city with trips to El Museo Castillo Serralles (in Ponce) and El Yunque Rain Forest (in El Yunque National Forest). With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Relax by the water at Flamenco Beach and Tamarindo Beach. Visiting Zoni Beach and Carlos Rosario Beach will get you outdoors. Next up on the itinerary: head off the coast to Culebrita Island, kick back and relax at Melones Beach, identify plant and animal life at Culebra National Wildlife Refuge, and browse the collection at Culebra Public Library.

Culebra is just a stone's throw from San Juan. In February, plan for daily highs up to 84°F, and evening lows to 73°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Mon) to allow time to travel to Isla de Vieques.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Get in touch with nature at Sun Bay and Media Luna Beach. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at La Chiva and Navio Beach. There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Vieques National Wildlife Refuge, enjoy the sand and surf at La Plata Beach, stroll through Caracas Beach, and view the masterpieces at Siddhia Hutchinson Fine Art Gallery.

Traveling by combination of flight and car from Culebra to Isla de Vieques takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can ride a ferry. In February, plan for daily highs up to 83°F, and evening lows to 73°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
