Set in the heart of one of the United States' most esteemed wine-producing regions, just 45 minutes from San Francisco, Sonoma boasts colonial Mexican architecture, including a mission.
Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Sonoma: Schramsberg Vineyards (in Calistoga) and St. Helena (Modus Operandi Cellars, Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards, &more). Dedicate the 18th (Mon) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's still lots to do: stroll around Sonoma Plaza, stop by Oxbow Public Market, and do a tasting at Robert Biale Vineyards.
