Springfield is the third-largest city in the state of Missouri and the county seat of Greene County. Escape the urban bustle at Springfield Conservation Nature Center and Jacob's Cave. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Bridal Cave and Aqua Toys Rentals. Change things up with these side-trips from Springfield: Creator Delights (in Bolivar), National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church (in Laurie) and Warsaw (Lost Valley Hatchery & Truman Lake). Make the 9th (Sat) an awe-inspiring day at Mark Twain National Forest. There's lots more to do: explore the fascinating underground world of Stark Caverns, immerse yourself in nature at Pomme de Terre State Park, contemplate the waterfront views at Sequiota Park, and zoom along the surf with a waterskiing or jet-skiing adventure.
