Generally considered to be the oldest town established by European Americans in the Black Hills, Custer began as a mining town.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Mount Rushmore National Memorial and Needles Eye Tunnel. Step out of Custer with an excursion to Presidential Trail in Keystone--about 30 minutes away.
