Start off your visit on the 25th (Tue): identify plant and animal life at Cherry Creek State Park, explore the striking landscape at Roxborough State Park, and then get curious at Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Center. The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Iceberg Lake Trail and Grinnell Glacier. Get in touch with nature at Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park and Highline Trail. Spend the 30th (Sun) exploring nature at Red Rock Falls, Glacier National Park. There's much more to do: contemplate the waterfront views at Avalanche Lake, take a memorable drive along Going-to-the-Sun Road, take in the dramatic natural features at Jackson Glacier Overlook, and get to know the fascinating history of Garden Wall.
