Home to nearly half of Alaska's population, the port city of Anchorage covers a staggering area of over 4,900 sq km (1,900 sq mi) surrounded by mountains.
Start off your visit on the 7th (Mon): identify plant and animal life at Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Keep things going the next day: take in the dramatic natural features at Beluga Point, then steep yourself in history at Alaska Native Heritage Center, and then see the interesting displays at Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center.

Denver to Anchorage is an approximately 9-hour flight. The time zone changes from Mountain Standard Time (MST) to Alaska Standard Time (AKST), which is usually a -2 hour difference. Traveling from Denver in June, you will find days in Anchorage are little chillier (66°F), and nights are about the same (51°F). Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Seward.

Seward

Alaska Starts Here

For most visitors to this part of the world, the wild part of Alaska starts at Seward, a small port city that takes advantage of the region's natural beauty.
On the 9th (Wed), add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour. Keep things going the next day: get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Alaska SeaLife Center, push the limits with Stoney Creek Canopy Adventures, and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Marathon.

Drive from Anchorage to Seward in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. When traveling from Anchorage in June, plan for slightly colder days and about the same nights in Seward: temperatures range from 61°F by day to 47°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Thu) early enough to drive to Homer.

Homer

Homer is a city located in Kenai Peninsula Borough in the U.S. Kick off your visit on the 11th (Fri): get engrossed in the history at Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies, get a new perspective on nature at Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center, then hit the best photo ops around with an inspiring photography tour, and finally grab your bike and head to Homer Spit. On your second day here, paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour and then examine the collection at Pratt Museum.

Drive from Seward to Homer in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and bus; or do a combination of bus and flight. In June in Homer, expect temperatures between 62°F during the day and 48°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 12th (Sat) to allow time for travel to Skagway.

The Municipality and Borough of Skagway is a first-class borough in Alaska on the Alaska Panhandle. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Davidson Glacier and TEMSCO Helicopters - Skagway. Step out of Skagway to go to Haines and see Off-Road Tours, which is approximately 1h 25 min away. And it doesn't end there: stroll through Lower Dewey Lake Hiking Trail, view the masterpieces at BearHead Photography Gallery, make a trip to Lower Reid Falls, and contemplate the long history of State Street and Broadway Street.

You can do a combination of flight and ferry from Homer to Skagway in 9.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 64°F in June, and nighttime lows around 52°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Tue) so you can travel to Juneau.
