Austin

— 13 nights

Live Music Capital of the World

Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.
Change things up with these side-trips from Austin: Fredericksburg (Grape Creek Vineyards, National Museum of the Pacific War, &more), San Antonio (McNay Art Museum, Mission San Jose, &more) and New Braunfels (Barn Pottery & Schlitterbahn Waterpark New Braunfels). There's still lots to do: explore the activities along Barton Springs Pool, get engrossed in the history at LBJ Presidential Library, ponder the world of politics at Texas State Capitol, and snap pictures at Congress Avenue Bridge / Austin Bats.

In June, plan for daily highs up to 93°F, and evening lows to 73°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
