Charlotte — 13 nights

A rapidly growing city in central North Carolina, Charlotte is the state's largest urban center and a major regional hub for finance, industry, technology, and entertainment.
Family-friendly places like Carowinds and Escape Kings will thrill your kids. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Charlotte: Historic Waxhaw Foot Bridge (in Waxhaw), Kings Mountain National Military Park (in Blacksburg) and Cheraw State Park Golf Course (in Cheraw). And it doesn't end there: kick your exploration up a notch at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, have fun and explore at ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center, pause for some photo ops at Metalmorphosis, and cool off at Great Wolf Lodge Water Park.

To see reviews, traveler tips, where to stay, and more tourist information, use the Charlotte itinerary builder site.

Expect a daytime high around 90°F in July, and nighttime lows around 70°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
