Known as a ski resort town, Aspen's history goes back to its roots as a silver-mining village tucked away in an isolated valley of the Rocky Mountains.
Go for a jaunt from Aspen to Glenwood Springs to see Hanging Lake Trail about 1h 10 min away. There's still lots to do: take in the awesome beauty at Maroon Bells, trek along Difficult Creek Trail, walk around The John Denver Sanctuary, and stroll through Maroon Lake Scenic Trail.

Originally built as a base for Vail Ski Resort, the town of Vail has blossomed into its own destination, but still has less than 6,000 permanent residents.
On the 17th (Thu), take a stroll through Vail Valley, admire the natural beauty at Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, and then don't miss a visit to Main Street. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 18th (Fri): indulge your thirst for a good beer at Broken Compass Brewery & Tap House and then fly down the slopes at Vail Mountain Resort.

More than just a convenient resting place for travelers on their way to the national park encompassing the Front Range of the Rockies, Estes Park is a popular place to visit in its own right.
Start off your visit on the 19th (Sat): explore the activities along Bear Lake, then indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas, and then take a memorable drive along Peak to Peak Scenic Byway. On the 20th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: wander the streets of Downtown Estes Park and then cruise along Trail Ridge Road.

Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Go for a jaunt from Denver to Fort Collins to see New Belgium Brewing about 1h 10 min away. There's still lots to do: take in nature's colorful creations at Denver Botanic Gardens, don't miss a visit to 16th Street Mall, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Denver Zoo, and look and learn at Denver Museum of Nature & Science.
