The Capital of the South

Georgia’s largest city and capital, Atlanta is a thriving metropolis anchored by its southern roots.
Take a break from the city and head to Stone Mountain Park and East Lake Golf Club. Change things up with these side-trips from Atlanta: The Frog Golf Course (in Villa Rica) and Little Mulberry Park (in Dacula). Tybee Island is a city and barrier island located in Chatham County, Georgia, 18 miles (29 km) east of Savannah, United States. We've included these beaches for you: Tybee Island Beach and Back River Beach. Shop till you drop at Fish Art Gallerie and Tybee Island Bait & Tackle. There's still lots to do: stroll through Savannah River Beach and steep yourself in history at Fort Pulaski National Monument.

Tybee Island is very close to Savannah. In April, plan for daily highs up to 74°F, and evening lows to 59°F. On the 19th (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can fly to Helen.

A taste of Bavaria right in the heart of Georgia's "Historic High Country," Helen houses just 400 residents but hosts over 200 shops that sell everything from handmade sweaters to Christmas ornaments.
Kick off your visit on the 20th (Tue): take in the awesome beauty at Brasstown Bald, look for gifts at Sunrise Grocery, and then take in the dramatic scenery at Anna Ruby Falls. You can fly from Tybee Island to Helen in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of taxi and bus. In April, Helen is slightly colder than Tybee Island - with highs of 67°F and lows of 45°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Wed) to allow enough time to fly back home.
