Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Chihuly Garden and Glass and The Museum of Flight will appeal to museum buffs. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Snoqualmie Falls and Kerry Park. Step out of Seattle to go to Issaquah and see Friends of Issaquah Salmon Hatchery, which is approximately 50 minutes away. There's much more to do: take in panoramic vistas at Space Needle, pause for some photo ops at Sonic Bloom By Dan Corson, explore the world behind art at Seattle Art Museum, and take a stroll through Pike Place Market.
