Olympia is the capital of the U.S. Get out of town with these interesting Olympia side-trips: Puyallup (Bradley Lake Park & Pioneer Park), Chambers Bay (in University Place) and Cushman Trail (in Gig Harbor). There's lots more to do: explore the engaging exhibits at Hands On Children's Museum, take a memorable tour with Mystic Journeys, identify plant and animal life at Woodard Bay Natural Resources Conservation Area, and stroll through Nisqually Reach Nature Center.

Madison to Olympia is an approximately 10-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Madison to Olympia. Traveling from Madison in July, expect a bit cooler with lows of 51°F in Olympia. Cap off your sightseeing on the 30th (Thu) early enough to catch the bus to Mount Rainier National Park.

Traveling by bus from Olympia to Mount Rainier National Park takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and train. In July, plan for daily highs up to 79°F, and evening lows to 53°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Mon) to allow enough time to take a shuttle to Seattle.
