Lahaina, Maui

Once the booming capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the tropical paradise of Lahaina still remains one of Maui's top vacation attractions, providing both culture and recreation.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Old Lahaina Luau. Get outdoors at Wailea Beach and Kamaole Beach Park III. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Zipline and Makena Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lahaina: Scuba & Snorkeling (in Wailuku) and Kamaole Beach Park II (in Kihei).

To find reviews, where to stay, and other tourist information, use the Lahaina itinerary planner.

Fort Wayne to Lahaina is an approximately 15-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 5 hours traveling from Fort Wayne to Lahaina. Traveling from Fort Wayne in July, Lahaina is a bit warmer at night with lows of 73°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Sat) to allow time to travel to Volcano.

Volcano, Island of Hawaii

Those who named Volcano opted for simplicity in choosing a title, taking the nearby fire-spewing Kilauea as a source of inspiration.
Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Volcano Art Center Gallery and Jagger Museum. Get outdoors at Punalu‘U Beach and Kīlauea. And it doesn't end there: hike along Kilauea Iki Trailhead, take in nature's colorful creations at Volcano Garden Arts, and take in the dramatic natural features at Thurston Lava Tube (Nahuku).

To see reviews and more tourist information, use the Volcano trip planning website.

Getting from Lahaina to Volcano by flight takes about 5 hours. In July, daily temperatures in Volcano can reach 85°F, while at night they dip to 71°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Tue) so you can drive to Kailua-Kona.

Kailua-Kona, Island of Hawaii

Thanks to its favorable location near a mountain range blocking the northeasterly trade winds, Kailua-Kona gets little rainfall, allowing adventure seekers and nature lovers a chance to enjoy over 300 days of sunshine each year.
Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park and Kona Coffee Living History Farm are good opportunities to explore the local culture. We've included these beaches for you: Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area and Kahaluu Beach. There's still lots to do: fulfill a lifelong dream with a swim-with-the-dolphins experience, look for gifts at The Original Donkey Ball Store, admire the majestic nature at Kahalu'u Beach Park, and enjoy the sand and surf at Makalawena/Pu'u Ali'i.

For other places to visit, photos, more things to do, and more tourist information, you can read our Kailua-Kona sightseeing planning site.
