In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Head to Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut Farm and Farm Tour and Wys Galleriesfor plenty of shopping. You'll get in some beach time at Waikiki Beach and Sharks Cove. Get out of town with these interesting Honolulu side-trips: Banzai Pipeline (in Pupukea), Opana Radar Site (in Kawela Bay) and Waimanalo Beach (in Waimanalo). There's still lots to do: capture your vacation like a pro with an inspiring photography tour, tour the pleasant surroundings at Koko Crater Railway Trail, get great views at Puu Ualakaa State Park, and savor the flavors at Food & Drink.

Oklahoma City to Honolulu is an approximately 12-hour flight. You can also fly. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 4 hours traveling from Oklahoma City to Honolulu. One of the island of Hawaii's major towns, Hilo contains a mix of Asian and Polynesian cultures and is known for its proximity to a national park encompassing two active volcanoes.
Step off the beaten path and head to Kīlauea and Pacific Tsunami Museum. Step out of the city life by going to Rainbow Falls and Akaka Falls State Park. Step out of Hilo with an excursion to Laupahoehoe Beach Park in Laupahoehoe--about 36 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: admire the natural beauty at Liliuokalani Gardens, stop by Hilo Coffee Mill, kick back and relax at Carlsmith Beach Park, and see the interesting displays at Lyman Museum.
