Surrounded by mountain ranges, forests, valleys, beaches, and deserts, the metropolitan area of Los Angeles is home to over 17 million people.
Bring the kids along to Disneyland Park and Universal Studios Hollywood. Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.
Bring the kids along to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and Fountains of Bellagio. When in Las Vegas, make a side trip to see Hoover Dam in Boulder City, approximately Boulder City away. There's still lots to do: get a taste of the local shopping with The Strip, try to win big at Paris Las Vegas, get the adrenaline pumping with an extreme tour, and take in panoramic vistas at High Roller.

Traveling by flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and bus. When traveling from Los Angeles in May, plan for somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Las Vegas: temperatures range from 36°C by day to 20°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Wed) so you can travel to San Francisco.

Plan for much colder temperatures traveling from Las Vegas in June, with highs in San Francisco at 25°C and lows at 15°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 7th (Sun) to allow time for travel back home.
