Hana — 4 nights

Hana is one of the most isolated communities in Hawaii, with a permanent population of just over 1,000 people.
Get out of town with these interesting Hana side-trips: Haleakala Crater (in Haleakala National Park) and Charles Lindbergh's Grave (in Kipahulu). Spend the 6th (Mon) exploring the striking scenery along Hana Highway - Road to Hana. And it doesn't end there: kick back and relax at Wai'anapanapa State Park, pause for some photo ops at Fagan's Cross, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kahanu Garden, and take some stellar pictures from Epic Experience Maui.

Traveling from New York City in June, things will get somewhat warmer in Hana: highs are around 87°F and lows about 71°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Mon) to allow time to fly to Lahaina.

Lahaina — 9 nights

Once the booming capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the tropical paradise of Lahaina still remains one of Maui's top vacation attractions, providing both culture and recreation.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lahaina: Surfing Goat Dairy (in Kula), Wailuku (Hale Ho'ike'ike at the Bailey House, Maui Tropical Plantation, &more) and Wailea (Wailea Beach, Ulua Beach, &more). There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Ka'anapali Beach, admire nature's wide array of creatures at Maui Ocean Center, stroll through Kapalua Beach, and wander the streets of Lahaina Front Street.

Getting from Hana to Lahaina by flight takes about 2 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of taxi and bus. In June, daily temperatures in Lahaina can reach 84°F, while at night they dip to 72°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Wed) to allow time to fly back home.
