Escape the urban bustle at Table Rock Lake and Ha Ha Tonka State Park. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Dogwood Canyon Nature Park and Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery. Generally considered to be the oldest town established by European Americans in the Black Hills, Custer began as a mining town.
Popular historic sites such as Mount Moriah Cemetery and Adams House are in your itinerary. Get outdoors at Mount Rushmore National Memorial and Needles Eye Tunnel. Venture out of the city with trips to Keystone (Presidential Trail & Big Thunder Gold Mine), Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway (in Spearfish) and Wind Cave National Park (Rankin Ridge Nature Trail & Wind Cave National Park). There's still lots to do: explore the activities along Sylvan Lake.
