Rochester to Santa Fe is an approximately 8-hour combination of bus and flight. You can also do a combination of flight and shuttle; or drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Rochester to Santa Fe. While traveling from Rochester, expect a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Santa Fe, ranging from highs of 69°F to lows of 41°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Wed) so you can drive to Taos.

You can drive from Santa Fe to Taos in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. Traveling from Santa Fe in October, Taos is slightly colder at night with lows of 33°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Sat) early enough to travel to Carlsbad.
