Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
Start off your visit on the 29th (Tue): brush up on your military savvy at The National WWII Museum, see the interesting displays at Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World, then take in the exciting artwork at Hemmerling Gallery of Southern Art, and finally stop by Boutique du Vampyre. On the next day, appreciate the extensive heritage of Garden District, wander the streets of Royal Street, then stop by Faulkner House Books, and finally take a stroll through French Quarter.
