Florence is a coastal city in Lane County, in the U.S. On the 18th (Wed), make a trip to Siuslaw River Bridge, identify plant and animal life at Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area, and then admire the majestic nature at Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park. On your second day here, enjoy some diversion at Sandland Adventures, thenexplore the striking landscape at Devil's Churn, and then take in the dramatic natural features at Thor's Well.

An old logging town at the crux of the high desert and ponderosa pine forest, Bend melds a love of the outdoors with cosmopolitan flair.
Step out of the city life by going to Lava River Cave and Tumalo Falls. Discover out-of-the-way places like Deschutes National Forest and Balancing Rocks. There's much more to do: trek along Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint, appreciate the history behind Newberry National Volcanic Monument, take an in-depth tour of Des Chutes Historical Museum, and relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour.

Astoria, named for famed fur trader John Jacob Astor, resides near the mouth of the Columbia River.
You'll get in some beach time at Haystack Rock and Manzanita Beach. Escape the urban bustle at Cannon Beach and The Lewis And Clark National And State Historical Parks. Change things up with a short trip to Hug Point State Park in Cannon Beach (about 38 minutes away). Spend the 24th (Tue) exploring nature at Fort Clatsop National Memorial. There's much more to do: examine the collection at Seaside Inverted Experience, visit a coastal fixture at Lightship Columbia, contemplate the long history of Lewis & Clark Salt Works, and look for all kinds of wild species at Astoria Column.
