The city of Hood River is the seat of Hood River County, Oregon, United States. Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Oregon Observatory. Start off your visit on the 1st (Sat): learn about all things military at Fort Dalles Museum and Anderson Homestead and then see the sky in a new way at Oregon Observatory. Astoria, named for famed fur trader John Jacob Astor, resides near the mouth of the Columbia River.
Take a break from the city and head to Haystack Rock and Ecola State Park. Do some cultural sightseeing at Fort Clatsop National Memorial and Lincoln City Glass Center. Get out of town with these interesting Astoria side-trips: Hatfield Marine Science Center (in Newport), Cannon Beach (in Cannon Beach) and Seaside Candyman (in Seaside).
