A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.
On the 14th (Sun), enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Rompe Olas and then enjoy the sand and surf at Crashboat Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: visit a coastal fixture at El Faro Lighthouse, then enjoy the sea views from Los Morrillos Light, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Playa Sucia.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to La Chiva and Secret Beach. Do some cultural sightseeing at Siddhia Hutchinson Fine Art Gallery and Puerto Ferro Lighthouse. Fly from San Juan to Isla de Vieques in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of shuttle and ferry. Expect a daytime high around 85°F in April, and nighttime lows around 75°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Thu) early enough to travel to Culebra.
