Founded by the Spanish in 1521, San Juan is the oldest city under U.S. jurisdiction and one of the oldest in the Americas.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Plaza Las Americas and Puerto Rican Art & Crafts. Do some cultural sightseeing at Old San Juan and The Poet's Passage. Change things up with a short trip to El Yunque National Forest in El Yunque National Forest (about 1h 10 min away). The adventure continues: kick back and relax at Condado Beach and brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Casa Bacardi Puerto Rico.

Sao Paulo, Brazil to San Juan is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. The time zone difference moving from Brasilia Standard Time to Atlantic Standard Time is minus 1 hour. While traveling from Sao Paulo, expect a bit warmer days and much warmer nights in San Juan, ranging from highs of 89°F to lows of 78°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Fajardo.

Fajardo — 2 nights

Fajardo is a small city and municipality in Puerto Rico (U.S.) located in the east region of the island, bordering the Atlantic Ocean, north of Ceiba and east of Luquillo. Kick off your visit on the 31st (Sun): head off the coast to Cayo Icacos and then look for gifts at Caribbean Trading Company Store.

Drive from San Juan to Fajardo in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle. Expect a daytime high around 88°F in July, and nighttime lows around 79°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 1st (Mon) so you can catch the flight to Culebra.

Culebra — 3 nights

With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Visit Flamenco Beach and Playa Tamarindo for some beach relaxation. Take a break from the city and head to Playa Zoni and Scuba & Snorkeling. It doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Museo Historico de Culebra.

You can ride a ferry from Fajardo to Culebra in 1.5 hours. Other options are to fly; or do a combination of taxi and flight; or do a combination of car and ferry. In August, daytime highs in Culebra are 89°F, while nighttime lows are 80°F. You'll set off for Rincon on the 4th (Thu).

Rincon — 3 nights

A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.
Get outdoors at Playa Crashboat and Tres Palmas Marine Reserve. It doesn't end there: visit a coastal fixture at Faro de Punta Higuera.
