For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Get outdoors at Sun Bay and La Chiva. Museum-lovers will get to explore Siddhia Hutchinson Fine Art Gallery and Gallery Galleon. And it doesn't end there: enjoy the sand and surf at Media Luna Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Caracas Beach, take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports, and look for all kinds of wild species at Vieques National Wildlife Refuge.

Columbia, USA to Isla de Vieques is an approximately 16.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 2 hours traveling from Columbia to Isla de Vieques. Traveling from Columbia in June, expect a bit warmer with lows of 78°F in Isla de Vieques. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Fri) to allow time to travel to Culebra.

With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
On the 8th (Sat), enjoy the sand and surf at Flamenco Beach, then enjoy the sand and surf at Tamarindo Beach, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Punta Soldado Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: tour the pleasant surroundings at Zoni Beach, stroll through Brava Beach, then stop by Zinkowski Art Studio, then get lost in a book at Culebra Public Library, and finally kick back and relax at Carlos Rosario Beach.

Do a combination of car and flight from Isla de Vieques to Culebra in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can ride a ferry. Expect a daytime high around 89°F in June, and nighttime lows around 79°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Sun) early enough to catch the flight to San Juan.

You'll get in some beach time at Luquillo Beach and Condado Beach. Do your shopping at Estudio de Arte Samuel Lind and Plaza las Americas. You'll find plenty of places to visit near San Juan: Scuba & Snorkeling (in Fajardo), El Yunque Rain Forest (in El Yunque National Forest) and Puerto Rico Premium Outlets (in Barceloneta). There's much more to do: take a stroll through Old San Juan, skim along the rocks with a canyoning and rapelling tour, let your taste buds guide you at a local gastronomic tour, and shop like a local with Botello Gallery.

San Juan is very close to Culebra. In June, daytime highs in San Juan are 89°F, while nighttime lows are 78°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Ponce.

Ponce is both a city and a municipality in the southern part of Puerto Rico. Kick off your visit on the 15th (Sat): shop like a local with Centro Cultural Carmen Sola de Pereira de Ponce, examine the collection at Parque de Bombas, examine the collection at El Museo Castillo Serralles, explore the world behind art at Museo de Arte de Ponce, then stop by Plaza del Caribe, and finally take an in-depth tour of Museo Casa Armstrong - Poventud.

You can drive from San Juan to Ponce in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a shuttle. When traveling from San Juan in June, plan for slightly colder days and about the same nights in Ponce: temperatures range from 83°F by day to 76°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
