14 days in Savannah & Hilton Head Itinerary

Step off the beaten path and head to Pin Point Heritage Museum and Old Fort Jackson. Change things up with these side-trips from Savannah: St. Helena's Anglican Church (in Beaufort) and Old Sheldon Church Ruins (in Yemassee). Newark to Savannah is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. Traveling from Newark in April, expect Savannah to be a bit warmer, temps between 77°F and 57°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Sat) so you can drive to Hilton Head.

You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Sea Pines Forest Preserve and The Golf Courses of Palmetto Dunes. Get out of town with these interesting Hilton Head side-trips: Beaufort (Hunting Island Lighthouse, Bay Street, &more). And it doesn't end there: head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, examine the collection at Coastal Discovery Museum, take a stroll through Old Town Bluffton, and stroll around Mitchelville Freedom Park.

Traveling by car from Savannah to Hilton Head takes an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 74°F in April, and nighttime lows around 59°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Thu) early enough to travel back home.
