Emerald City

Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Seattle: Point Defiance Park (in Tacoma), Olympic National Park (Hurricane Ridge, Murhut Falls, &more) and Sequim (Dungeness Landing County Park, B&B Family Farm, &more). There's much more to do: don't miss a visit to Space Needle, pause for some photo ops at Fremont Troll, get a taste of the local shopping with Pike Place Market, and learn about all things military at Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum.

A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Portland: Port Marina Park (in Hood River), Seaside Beach Lewis and Clark Monument (in Seaside) and Cannon Beach (Ecola State Park & Haystack Rock).
