Anchorage is known for historic sites, wildlife, museums, nature, and trails. Dallas to Anchorage is an approximately 10.5-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. The time zone changes from Central Standard Time (CST) to Alaska Standard Time (AKST), which is usually a -3 hour difference. Traveling from Dallas in June, things will get much colder in Anchorage: highs are around 66°F and lows about 51°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Tue) to allow time to drive to Seward.

For most visitors to this part of the world, the wild part of Alaska starts at Seward, a small port city that takes advantage of the region's natural beauty.
Go for a jaunt from Seward to Kenai Fjords National Park to see Exit Glacier about 32 minutes away. There's lots more to do: paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, observe the fascinating underwater world at Alaska SeaLife Center, explore the wealth of natural beauty at Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center, and explore the activities along Resurrection Bay.

Traveling by car from Anchorage to Seward takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and bus; or take a train. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Fri) early enough to travel to Homer.
