Stockholm, Sweden to Ketchikan is an approximately 19.5-hour combination of flight and ferry. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 10 hours traveling from Stockholm to Ketchikan. Traveling from Stockholm in April, Ketchikan is a bit warmer at night with lows of 4°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel to Sitka.

Kick off your visit on the 13th (Thu): get to know the fascinating history of Sitka National Historic Park/Totem Park and then take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports.

Getting from Ketchikan to Sitka by combination of ferry and flight takes about 3.5 hours. Other options: ride a ferry. In April, daytime highs in Sitka are 11°C, while nighttime lows are 3°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel to Seward.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Sitka to Seward in 7.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and bus. Traveling from Sitka in April, Seward is a bit cooler at night with lows of 0°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Anchorage.

You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Bodenburg Butte and Cook Inlet. Get in touch with nature at Kincaid Park and Nature & Wildlife Tours. You can drive from Seward to Anchorage in 2.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. In April, daily temperatures in Anchorage can reach 10°C, while at night they dip to 0°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Fri) so you can fly to Fairbanks.

On the 22nd (Sat), identify plant and animal life at Large Animal Research Station, then look for gifts at Bishops Jewelry Gallery, then hit the slopes at Birch Hill Ski & Snowboard Area, and finally hike along Angel Rocks Trail. On the 23rd (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour and then see the interesting displays at Bouchard's International Dog Mushing and Sled Museum.

Fly from Anchorage to Fairbanks in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Anchorage in April, expect Fairbanks to be slightly colder, temps between 7°C and -7°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
