One of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, Tucson is a city on a cultural crossroads, with European, Native American, Mexican, and Asian residents blending and sometimes conflicting with one another.
Start off your visit on the 13th (Sun): learn more about the world around you at Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and then explore the stunning scenery at Sabino Canyon. On your second day here, find something for the whole family at Old Tucson, examine the collection at Pima Air & Space Museum, and then take in the history at Mission San Xavier del Bac.

On the 15th (Tue), see the interesting displays at Musical Instrument Museum, admire the striking features of Taliesin West, and then learn about winemaking at Aridus Wine Company. On the next day, get the adrenaline pumping with an extreme tour, admire the natural beauty at Desert Botanical Garden, and then wander the streets of Old Town Scottsdale.

Traveling from Scottsdale in January, expect Sedona to be little chillier, temps between 14°C and 3°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 18th (Fri) so you can go by car to Grand Canyon National Park.
