Your day-by-day itinerary now includes University of Texas at Austin. Escape the urban bustle at Barton Springs Pool and Barton Creek Greenbelt. A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Get outdoors at Portland Timbers and Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge. Visit Pittock Mansion and Eastbank Esplanade for their historical value. There's still lots to do: look for gifts at Powell's City of Books, trek along Wildwood Trail, delve into the lush surroundings at The Grotto - National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother, and meet the residents at Oregon Zoo.

You can fly from Austin to Portland in 6.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and flight; or drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Austin to Portland.
