On the 3rd (Mon), look for gifts at Native American Craft Shop, then take in the dramatic scenery at Mingo Falls, then see the interesting displays at Museum of the Cherokee Indian, and finally try to win big at Casino at Harrah’s Cherokee. Keep things going the next day: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Clingmans Dome, then take a memorable drive along Newfound Gap Road, then appreciate the history behind Rockefeller Memorial, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Alum Cave Trail.

Charlotte to Cherokee is an approximately 3-hour car ride. You can also fly; or drive; or do a combination of bus and car. Traveling from Charlotte in April, expect little chillier with lows of 6°C in Cherokee. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 4th (Tue) so you can go by car to Highlands.
