Ouray is a Home Rule Municipality that is the county seat and the most populous city of Ouray County, Colorado, United States. Take a break from the city and head to Yankee Boy Basin and Bear Creek Falls. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Ouray Box Canyon Waterfall and Cascade Falls Park. When in Ouray, make a side trip to see Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park, approximately 1h 30 min away. There's still lots to do: take in the dramatic scenery at Box Canyon Waterfall & Park, tour the pleasant surroundings at Perimeter Trail, and explore the galleries of Ouray County Museum.

Known as a ski resort town, Aspen's history goes back to its roots as a silver-mining village tucked away in an isolated valley of the Rocky Mountains.
Explore hidden gems such as River Rafting & Tubing and Glenwood Canyon Bike Trail. Step out of the city life by going to Maroon Lake Scenic Trail and Rocky Mountains. Step out of Aspen to go to Glenwood Springs and see Hanging Lake, which is approximately 1h 25 min away. There's still lots to do: explore the landscape on two wheels at Rio Grande Trail and appreciate the history behind The John Denver Sanctuary.

Getting from Ouray to Aspen by car takes about 4.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of taxi, bus, and car.
