Mile-High City

Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Get some historical perspective at Fort Logan National Cemetery and Hotel de Paris Museum. Venture out of the city with trips to Clear Creek Canyon (in Georgetown), Winter Park Resort (in Winter Park) and Estes Park (Spas & Estes Park Guided Tours). There's still lots to do: stroll through Montgomery Reservoir, trek along Mount Sanitas Trail, engage your brain at Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Center, and hit the slopes at Blue River Sports.
