Mile-High City

Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Get out of town with these interesting Denver side-trips: Great Frontier Brewing Company (in Lakewood), The Orchard Town Center (in Westminster) and Shadow Mountain Gallery (in Evergreen). Dedicate the 6th (Sun) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's still lots to do: take in the exciting artwork at Denver Botanic Gardens, make a trip to 16th Street Mall, meet the residents at Downtown Aquarium, and brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Stranahan's Whiskey Distillery & Cocktail Bar.
