Denver

— 14 nights

Mile-High City

Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Get out of town with these interesting Denver side-trips: Shadow Mountain Gallery (in Evergreen), The Orchard Town Center (in Westminster) and Great Frontier Brewing Company (in Lakewood). Next up on the itinerary: take in nature's colorful creations at Denver Botanic Gardens, make a trip to 16th Street Mall, meet the residents at Downtown Aquarium, and indulge your senses at some of the top wineries in the area.

To see other places to visit, more things to do, ratings, and more tourist information, go to the Denver road trip website.

New York City to Denver is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. The time zone difference moving from Eastern Standard Time to Mountain Standard Time is minus 2 hours. Traveling from New York City in December, expect Denver to be a bit cooler, temps between 43°F and 19°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 15th (Tue) to allow enough time to fly back home.
