Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Molly Brown House Museum and Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum. Get outdoors at Evergreen Lake and Dinosaur Ridge. Step out of Denver with an excursion to Mother Cabrini Shrine in Golden--about 36 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, learn and have fun at Children's Museum of Denver, examine the collection at Forney Museum of Transportation, and explore the world behind art at Clyfford Still Museum.

To see where to stay, maps, traveler tips, and tourist information, refer to the Denver online holiday builder.
