Mile-High City

Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Step out of the city life by going to Manitou Springs Incline and Emerald Lake Trail. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Stranahan's Whiskey Distillery & Cocktail Bar and History Colorado Center. Venture out of the city with trips to Boulder (Boulder Creek Path & Mount Sanitas Trail), Cheyenne (Cheyenne Depot Museum & Historic Governors' Mansion) and Swetsville Zoo (in Timnath). There's still lots to do: explore the world behind art at Clyfford Still Museum, engage your brain at Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Center, examine the collection at Michael Garman Museum & Gallery, and take an in-depth tour of Center for Colorado Women's History.

For where to stay, ratings, reviews, and tourist information, refer to the Denver trip planner.

Chisholm to Denver is an approximately 7-hour combination of car and flight. You can also drive. The time zone difference moving from Central Standard Time to Mountain Standard Time is minus 1 hour. In June, Denver is a bit warmer than Chisholm - with highs of 83°F and lows of 55°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Sun) to allow time to travel back home.
