Des Moines is the capital and the most populous city in the U.S. state of Iowa. Explore Des Moines' surroundings by going to Historical Village, Vermeer Windmill & Scholte House (in Pella), Winterset (Roseman Covered Bridge, Courthouse Square, &more) and Imes Covered Bridge (in Saint Charles). And it doesn't end there: ponder the world of politics at Capitol Building, take in the views from High Trestle Trail Bridge, walk around Pappajohn Sculpture Park, and contemplate the long history of Terrace Hill.
