The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
Change things up with a short trip to Museum of the Plains Indian in Browning (about 1h 15 min away). There's much more to do: trek along Iceberg Lake Trail, stroll through Trail of the Cedars, explore the striking landscape at Grinnell Glacier, and explore the activities along Lake McDonald.

Great Falls is a city in and the county seat of Cascade County, Montana, United States. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center and Gates of the Mountains. Change things up with these side-trips from Great Falls: Great Northern Carousel (in Helena) and Fort Benton (Museum of the Northern Great Plains, White Cliffs, &more). There's still lots to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Giant Springs State Park, examine the collection at C.M. Russell Museum, have fun and explore at Children's Museum of Montana, and make a splash at Electric City Water Park.
