Lihue or Līhue is an unincorporated census-designated place (CDP) and the county seat of Kauai County, Hawaii. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Wailua Falls and Hanalei Beach. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Shipwreck Beach and Anini Beach. Change things up with a short trip to Hanalei Valley Lookout in Hanalei (about 48 minutes away). The adventure continues: kick your exploration up a notch at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, hike along Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail, admire the sheer force of Opaekaa Falls, and explore the striking landscape at Spouting Horn.

One of the island of Hawaii's major towns, Hilo contains a mix of Asian and Polynesian cultures and is known for its proximity to a national park encompassing two active volcanoes.

In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Step off the beaten path and head to Manoa Falls and Lanikai Beach. Visit Makapuu Lighthouse Trail and National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific for their historical value. Get out of town with these interesting Honolulu side-trips: Waimea Valley (in Haleiwa), Turtle Bay Beach (in Kahuku) and Opana Radar Site (in Kawela Bay). There's lots more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Lanikai Pillboxes, hike along Koko Crater Railway Trail, stroll around Kapiolani Regional Park, and take some stellar pictures from Puu Ualakaa State Park.
